Positive energy is infectious, isn't it? A woman wrote to me a while back asking if I had any posters or flyers. She was keen to put some up in her local gym and hand them out to her colleagues at work so that she could spread the word about how we help women to build more self-esteem. Amazingly, this wasn't something I'd considered doing before she suggested it. But it's such a good idea! There are so many enthusiastic women out there who want to feel better themselves but also do their bit to help others.
As you're probably aware, we have to charge for some of our Self-help Resources to fund the site. Some women find that the free self-esteem test and recommendations are sufficient to help get them started on making improvements to their lives. Others recognise that they require more in-depth guidance and support showing them how to build self-esteem and go on to purchase the self-esteem eWorkbooks that they need to succeed. This is a delicate balance in terms of our own funding, but we're managing to maintain this self-esteem website on limited capital and we're developing a better service with each passing day. I can't say it's not tough, but it's emotionally rewarding work!
Our biggest cost is in advertising: people are often unaware of the fact that you have to pay vast sums of money to Google, Yahoo, and others nowadays in order to have a reasonable presence on the web.
Initiatives like distributing mini-posters may seem small but, believe me, every little helps. If you have the energy, inclination and opportunity to join in and spread the word, then please print off the attached mini-poster or flyer (fact sheet) and either hand them around or pin them on notice boards in your local community center or gym.
Just a little bit of your spare time used this way will almost certainly help to liberate a few more women from feelings of low self-esteem that they may have been struggling with for years. And that's a great feeling!
